‘2027, I WILL BE IN GOVERNMENT’ DADDY OWEN DECLARES POLITICAL AMBITIONS
Gospel artist and philanthropist Daddy Owen has announced his intention to join government by 2027, revealing his long-term strategy for leadership during an interview on Buzz Central Podcast with host Cheptoek Boyo.
The Vanity hitmaker said he is not joining politics because of money and fame but to help people, “There’s a misconception that leadership is only through ballot. There are many ways to get into government. In 2027, just know I will be inside, through ballot or back door.“
He disclosed that he has been strategically positioning himself, “I have been very strategic and well connected in government. I’m also strategic with my brand and what I do and how my impact on society is felt. If you are keen enough you know where I am eyeing.”
Owen also named his advocacy legacy, particularly his push to amend Kenya’s Disabilities Act, as his leadership motivation. “I am part of the people who really fought for the disabilities Act to be amended at the same time I believe I’m going to leadership to fight for the same thing. I have been here for so long, I have seen fame and money, and I’m not going there because of that. I believe as a leader you have to take that mantle and push for change at the policy level.”
