Renowned comedian and TV personality Dr. Ofweneke has shared the harsh financial realities he faced during the Covid-19 pandemic, revealing how he resorted to selling samosas to make ends meet.

In a candid revelation on his podcast, Dr. Ofweneke recounted the incident, “During Covid, I sold samosas. I had a newborn baby born just a month after Covid was declared. I married a girl from a wealthy family, and the pressure was immense.

Dr. Ofweneke disclosed that his in-laws were not supportive, “They had already told her, ‘Artistes are done.’ I had never seen an auctioneer at my door until Covid hit. I used all my savings until it ended.” The pandemic had a devastating impact on entertainers and creatives, many of whom lost their livelihoods overnight.
