‘BAD INFLUENCE’ LILIAN NG’ANG’A CALLS OUT KENYANS USING OZEMPIC FOR WEIGHT LOSS
Former First Lady of Machakos County, Lilian Ng’ang’a, has publicly criticised Kenyans for using the diabetes drug Ozempic for weight loss, calling it a ‘bad influence’ on their followers.
In a social media post, Ng’ang’a questioned the trend, writing, “Ozempic. Why are y’all using it so much? To each their own, of course, but have all other means of losing weight failed? Bad influence, I say!”
Originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, Ozempic (semaglutide) has gained global popularity as an off-label weight-loss solution, endorsed by international celebrities. However, medical experts warn that misuse can lead to serious side effects, including pancreatitis, kidney issues, and gastrointestinal complications.
