JUNIOR NYONG’O MAKES MET GALA DEBUT ROCKING KENYAN DESIGNER KIKO ROMEO

Rising star Junior Nyong’o stepped onto fashion’s grandest stage at the 2025 Met Gala, proudly representing Kenyan design in a custom look by Kiko Romeo while accompanying his Oscar-winning sister, Lupita Nyong’o. 

The actor shared a playful moment with Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton, captioning their photo: “Just two Gunners hoping for a win on Wednesday @lewishamilton #MET in custom @kikoromeo.”

While Lupita commanded attention in a show-stopping tribute to rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Little Richard embodying the gala’s Tailored for You theme with her celebration of Black dandyism as radical self-expression.

“I was excited to pay homage to the history of Black fashion at this year’s Met Gala. For me, this year’s theme captured how the Black men of America have insisted on their dignity through dressing with more value than this country has afforded them. Dressing as a radical, defiant, and self-preserving act is something that I learned from my African roots as well as from observing African-America through popular culture,” said Lupita.
