Popular Citizen TV Swahili news anchor Lulu Hassan appears to be making early preparations for a potential political debut in the 2027 general elections, according to reports.

Speculation about her political ambitions intensified after branded campaign merchandise, including t-shirts and reflector jackets with her image and the slogan “Lulu Hassan Mama Mvita,” surfaced online. 

The items, shared widely on TikTok, suggest she may be testing the waters for a parliamentary bid in Mvita Constituency. While Hassan has not publicly confirmed her political aspirations, sources close to the journalist reveal she has been increasingly involved in community initiatives across the constituency. This heightened grassroots engagement has fuelled rumours that she could be positioning herself to contest the Mvita parliamentary seat.
