BLANKETS & WINE CANCELS JUNE EDITION OVER SAFETY CONCERNS
The organizers of Blankets & Wine have announced the cancellation of the June 2025 edition originally scheduled for 29th June 2025, citing safety concerns amid nationwide demonstrations planned for June 25.
After extensive consultations with security teams and partners, the festival organisers determined that the current political climate poses significant risks to attendees, staff, and infrastructure.
“In light of the ongoing unrest and anticipated nationwide demonstrations, we have made the difficult yet necessary decision to cancel,” the organizers stated. “Our priority is creating spaces for joy, but we must also prioritize the safety of our community while standing in solidarity with Kenyans during this time.“
All tickets purchased for the June edition will be fully refunded within 14 working days via the original payment method. Season ticket holders will receive a proportional refund for the cancelled event.
The team remains optimistic about upcoming editions, with plans to return in September 2025 for festivals in Bradford (UK) and Nairobi. “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and share your disappointment. Take care of one another, and we hope to see you in September for unforgettable celebrations,” the statement concluded.
