NASRA YUSUFF BLASTS HIRED GOONS FOR ACCEPTING MONEY TO SABOTAGE PEACEFUL PROTESTS
Comedian Nasra Yusuff has publicly expressed outrage over reports of youths accepting small payments to disrupt peaceful protests, attacking demonstrators advocating against police brutality.
In a social media video, Yusuff questioned the morality and logic behind young Kenyans being weaponised against their own peers in the ongoing fight for justice.
The comedian’s statement came amid growing concerns about hired goons infiltrating demonstrations. “I’m furious! How do you accept 200, 500 or 1000 shillings to beat people protesting against police brutality? If it were political, I’d understand sometimes we get emotional, caught in cult-like mentalities. This is a fight for justice, something we’ve struggled with for years.”
She further stated that the protests represent a years-long struggle for accountability, “Where do you get the audacity to beat someone fighting for your country? What is wrong with you? I don’t get it.”
Her remarks follow widespread reports of goons assaulting and robbing protesters during recent demonstrations, raising suspicions of state-backed sabotage or political interference.
