VICTOR WANYAMA’S PARTNER SERAH NDANU MOURNS THE PASSING OF MOTHER-IN-LAW MILDRED
Serah Ndanu, partner of celebrated footballer Victor Wanyama, has shared a tribute following the passing of her mother-in-law, Mildred Wanyama.
In an emotional message, Ndanu said, “My heart aches as we say goodbye to our matriarch, a woman whose love, strength, and grace touched everyone around her. Thank you for raising the man I love with dignity, for welcoming me to your home with open arms, for loving me as your own, for loving our children, for being our prayer warrior, for keeping us grounded, and for always reminding us of the importance of togetherness. Your quiet wisdom and elegant presence were a gift. We will deeply miss you, Mama. Your grandchildren will miss the little walks around the shamba, milking the cows, your tales, and the smiles you brought to their faces your warmth, your hugs, and your gentle spirit. Rest well, Mom. You are deeply loved and forever missed.”
The late Mildred, mother to Victor and Mariga, was honoured in a gathering filled with song and dance, reflecting Luhya traditions of celebrating the lives of loved ones even in mourning. Renowned gospel artist Daddy Owen disclosed, “In Luhya culture, we mourn our loved ones while also celebrating their lives with songs and dance. Last night, we gathered at the home of the late mother of Mariga and Victor Wanyama to honor her life as we mourned her passing. We also celebrated her legacy. Together, rest in peace, Mama Mariga and Victor Wanyama.”
