AUTOPSY REVEALS SUSAN NJOKI WAS STRANGLED TO DEATH AT CHIROMO HOSPITAL
A postmortem examination conducted at Montezuma Morgue on Tuesday revealed that Susan Njoki was strangled to death, sending shockwaves through her family and investigators.
Six pathologists representing the family, the government, and Chiromo Hospital Group oversaw the autopsy, which lasted over four hours. Detectives from Kabete Police Station, handling the ongoing investigation, were also present.
The findings confirmed that Njoki died roughly four hours after her last meal on Tuesday, a day after she was forcibly admitted to the facility without her consent.
Family pathologist Dr. P.M. Maturi stated, “Susan died because of what we call manual strangulation.” Government pathologist Dr. J.N. Ndungu added, “There are features of compression to the neck, and those features are in keeping with manual strangulation. There are also features of lack of oxygen in the blood as a result of neck compression.”
Njoki, who had previously undergone mental health treatment, had taken to social media and said that four individuals were sent by her husband, Alloise Ngure forcibly took her from their Kileleshwa home.
“As a family, we may decide to do toxicology and other investigations. We are almost satisfied because the intention of collecting her, forcing her to go to the hospital against her will, was there. The instructions were given by the husband,” said her brother, Ephantus Kamengere.
In response, Chiromo Hospital Group CEO Dr. Vincent Hongo issued a statement affirming the facility’s cooperation with authorities.
