COMEDIAN KAFENGO DETAILS KK MWENYEWE’S FINAL MOMENTS

Comedian Kafengo has shared details about fellow comic KK Mwenyewe’s tragic passing on July 14, 2025. 

According to Kafengo, KK had been battling severe acid-related health complications since 2020. “He was in and out of hospitals constantly these past few years,” Kafengo revealed. “Two months ago, his condition took a turn for the worse.”

On Friday, July 11, KK visited a private hospital where he received medication and was put on a drip. Doctors referred him to a public hospital for specialised imaging. He spent what would be his final weekend at his Kirigiti home with his parents, making plans to undergo the scan on Monday, July 14.

“That Monday morning, he wasn’t feeling well at all,” Kafengo recounted with visible emotion. “I rushed to his house, arranged for a car, and we headed straight to Kiambu Level 5 Hospital.“

In a heartbreaking turn of events, while waiting in line for treatment, KK suddenly went silent. “We immediately called for a doctor,” Kafengo said. “After examining him, the doctor confirmed our worst fears KK was gone.“

The comedy fraternity has been plunged into grief by KK’s untimely passing. Known for his relatable humour, KK Mwenyewe had become a household name in Kenya’s entertainment scene.
