Renowned Kenyan gospel deejay Keziah Jerono Rachel, popularly known as DJ Kezz, has announced her conversion to Islam.

In a social media post, the former gospel artist shared her path to Islam, “My walk with God didn’t begin in church, and it didn’t end there,” DJ Kezz wrote. “I’ve been on a spiritual journey for years asking hard questions, loving Jesus, studying faiths, and letting God speak in unexpected places. My choice to follow the Islamic path isn’t sudden,it’s sacred. It’s honest. It’s mine.”

DJ Kezz, who built her career in Kenya’s gospel music scene, made it clear that her decision was not made lightly but a result of years of soul searching and divine guidance. “I honour where I’ve been, and I honour where I’m going,” she continued. “Faith isn’t a box. It’s a calling. And I still answer. Alhamdulillah.

Alongside her announcement, DJ Kezz set clear boundaries for her followers, rejecting any form of religious shaming or online harassment. “My page is no longer open to hate, trolling, religious shaming, or moral superiority,” she declared. “My life is not your battleground, and my peace is definitely not up for debate. If your presence here is rooted in love, welcome. If it’s rooted in judgment or spiritual harm, please carry that energy elsewhere. We’re not doing that this week. Or ever again.
