CASHMEER’S FAKE WEDDING STUNT ANGERS KENYAN DIGITAL CREATORS
Kenya’s social media scene is buzzing with outrage after top content creators Trisha Khalid, Pritty Vishy, Winnie Njenga and Mali ya Kibe fell victim to what they describe as “the ultimate influencer bait-and-switch.”
The quartet arrived dressed to the nines for what they believed was Cashmeer Sayyid and Bollington’s wedding, only to discover they were actually attending a training institute launch.
Winnie Njenga didn’t mince words about the experience: “This is using people, I bought my clothes for Sh60,000, where am I taking it? Just call me for a burial because I know someone has died but the weddings don’t call me again!”
The disappointment ran deep for Trisha Khalid, who revealed, “Cashmere you just sat and decided to invite Trisha because she doesn’t eat rice at home, you did us bad. Every time I remember the amount of money I used it pains me. You made us dress in black and wait for you!”
Mali ya Kibe shared her financial strain from the incident, “There was no wedding, I even took out a loan to make the dress. The invite indicated it was a wedding and since it stated it will start at 4pm and most muslim weddings are in the evening I never questioned. It is not nice. People even carried gifts and had to go back with them “
The most dramatic account came from Pritty Vishy, “My bestie took the money for rent and made clothes for the wedding, by the way she didn’t sleep fantasising how she will dance wearing six inch heels. Me on the other hand I had to pass by the pharmacy to get an injection for the pain, mark you this is my first time in three weeks leaving the house with my new bbl. The next time I will be attending an influencer event only god knows.”
