COURT GRANTS SENATOR HEZENA LEMALETIAN RESTRAINING ORDERS AGAINST ESTRANGED PARTNER

Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian has obtained interim court orders barring her former boyfriend, Musa Hussein Lenyumpa, from harassing, threatening, or contacting her.

Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Festus Terer issued the ruling, prohibiting Musa from assaulting, intimidating, or harassing the Senator. He is also not allowed to use her name, image, or likeness for any purpose including publishing any content about her or visiting her residential or work premises.

Through her legal counsel Danstan Omari, Senator Lemaletian clarified that their relationship was limited to a Samburu customary courtship which she formally terminated. She stated no dowry was exchanged, and the Ksh100,000 “ropiyani e loip” (traditional courtship token) had been fully refunded.

The senator alleges sustained harassment including: Death threats and physical violence (including an alleged nosebleed-inducing assault), false public claims of marriage and reputational damage through social media and blogger campaigns.

She maintains these actions have endangered her safety, violated her privacy and threatened her political career. The case will proceed for inter partes hearing on September 22, 2025, where the court will determine whether to extend, modify, or vacate the temporary orders.
