ERIC OMONDI EXPOSES TWO WOMEN WHO TRIED TO SCUM HIS INITIATIVE OVER KSH1 MILLION
Kenyan comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi has exposed a sophisticated scam orchestrated by two women who attempted to exploit the goodwill of his Sisi Kwa Sisi initiative and the Kenyan public.
The incident began when a heart-wrenching video circulated online, depicting a woman carrying a small child and holding another, being chased from her home with a man. Moved by the plight of the family, Omondi and his Sisi Kwa Sisi foundation, a citizen-led initiative aimed at helping vulnerable Kenyans sprang into action. He shared a phone number and appealed to the public for contributions to support the distressed woman and her children.
However, through the initiative’s strict due diligence process, red flags were raised. Omondi’s team investigated the case further and uncovered that the entire story was a carefully staged act designed to defraud compassionate Kenyans.

“One of the principles of Sisi Kwa Sisi is that we do serious due diligence before, during and after a case,” Omondi stated in a social media post. “These individuals tried to scam Sisi Kwa Sisi lakini mungu ni nani? It is very sad that these individuals would use innocent children to try and scam Kenyans.”
The individuals involved were apprehended and taken Kitengela Police Station. The phone used to receive donations has been placed in police custody, where it was discovered that the fraudulent appeal had already accumulated approximately one million Kenyan shillings from unsuspecting donors.
In a shocking confession at the police station, one of the women involved admitted to the scheme. She revealed that the viral video was a complete fabrication, orchestrated by herself and two friends. “To say the truth, the video that was posted on Sunday, my two friends and I decided to act and shoot a video because my friend’s child has a problem and even my child,” she confessed. “We did the video. The man in the video is not mine; it’s someone we looked for and paid him 200 shillings. So far I have received 1 million on Mpesa. I’m asking for forgiveness from Kenyans.”
The initiative is now consulting with its supporters team Sisi Kwa Sisi on the appropriate way forward regarding the funds.
