HARAMBEE STARS PLAYERS HAVE NOT RECEIVED SH1 MILLION FROM BAHATIS
Members of Kenya’s national football team, the Harambee Stars, have revealed they are yet to receive the joint KSh1 million reward promised by musician Bahati and his wife Diana Marua following their stunning 1-0 victory against Morocco in the CHAN 2024 tournament over a week ago.
The celebrity couple had publicly vowed to deliver the cash reward at Kasarani Stadium should Kenya triumph in the Group A clash. In a pre-match declaration, Bahati stated, “We will be carrying this money to Kasarani, and if Harambee Stars beat Morocco…we will enter the field and give the players.”
However, players confirmed on Citizen TV on Sunday, August 17 that only presidential pledges from H.E. William Ruto had been honoured. One team member said “Bahati had said I think it was about KSh1 million to be divided among us. I am not very sure if he has given it out but for us the money we have received is only from the president. Najua tu Bahati because we saw him on TikTok.“
