LUPITA’S PARENTS JET TO NEW YORK TO SUPPORT HER AND BROTHER IN TWELFTH NIGHT

Kisumu County governor Anyang’ Nyong’o and his wife, Dorothy jetted to New York City to attend the opening of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. 

The occasion marked the stage debut of their son, Peter Nyong’o Jr alongside his Academy Award-winning sister, Lupita Nyong’o. The siblings are making theatrical history by starring as twins Viola and Sebastian in The Public Theater’s Free Shakespeare in the Park production at the newly renovated Delacorte Theater in Central Park. 

This is the first time the two have shared a professional stage. Lupita, who plays Viola, shared a family photo from the celebration, “The loved ones turned up, and we love them for it! ❤️ Thank you for celebrating Twelfth Night with us 🥰🙏🏿”

The production, directed by Saheem Ali marking the return of free Shakespeare to the iconic Delacorte Theater following its renovation. It features an all-star ensemble cast, including Peter Dinklage, Sandra Oh and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
