MURUGI MUNYI VOICES FRUSTRATION WITH VISA APPLICATION PROCESS

Content creator Murugi Munyi is questioning the demeaning and intrusive nature of applying for visas to foreign countries.

Speaking in a social media rant, she shared her recent experience after completing a visa application. “I just finished a visa application process, now it’s just to cross my fingers and hope for the best,” Munyi said. “But why does applying for a visa to foreign countries feel like begging? I’m literally here, like, I promise I have money. I have enough to get into your country and leave, and I’ll leave when you tell me, I swear.”

She went on to list her pre-booked itinerary, her husband and children as proof of her intention to return, “I’m not going there to look for a rich, old white man. I have kids here I’m coming back to. What the hell are we begging for? Just let us in.”

Her comments comes as fellow Kenyans and citizens of other African nations share the same sentiment.
