Former presidential candidate  George Luchiri Wajackoyah has once again captured national attention with his latest proposal: a five-year renewable marriage license system for Kenyan couples.

The eccentric lawyer-turned-politician made the declaration via social media, posting, “Marriage licenses should be renewable after every 5 years. Good morning Kenya!” Known for his unconventional views, Wajackoyah suggested that marriage contracts should come with expiration dates, requiring couples to consciously renew their commitment every half-decade.

The marriage reform proposal comes just a day after Wajackoyah shared videos of himself visiting Yesu Wa Tongaren, the self-proclaimed “Jesus of Tongaren” whose 2017 arrest and release made national headlines.

I once asked the court to produce the real Jesus if it wasn’t him,” Wajackoyah recounted. “The prosecution failed, and the magistrate freed him.”

He also revealed that the controversial preacher gifted him with Itaywa Tongaren is the place to be, he declared.
