COMEDIAN MLUO REVEALS SCOLIOSIS DIAGNOSIS
Popular Kenyan comedian Alvin Oduor also known as Mluo has revealed his personal health journey with scoliosis, a medical condition characterised by an abnormal curvature of the spine.
Speaking in an interview with Oga Obinna, in a move to destigmatize the condition and educate the public, the comedian shared his story to shed light on what he describes as ignored issue. “I have a condition called scoliosis which is basically a curved spine. Most Kenyans do not know it, but one in a hundred children have it. It’s going to be a pandemic,” Mluo explained.
He talked about the common social stigma associated with the condition’s visible signs, noting how it often leads to public scrutiny. “There is a way when you stand, someone notices it. You find people in the comment section talking and I went to do an investigation about the person commenting, they themselves have it. So crazy,” he stated.
By sharing his diagnosis, Mluo aims to shift the conversation from mockery to support.
