MUSICIAN MARYA SAYS HER FRIENDS LEFT AFTER SUFFERING A STROKE
Kenyan musician Marya has talked about her health battle, revealing she suffered a stroke at the beginning of the year that left her partially paralysed.
In an emotional account, Marya described how the stroke happened. “I got the stroke at the beginning of the year. It happened within a blink of an eye. I was holding my second-born, and he fell. I tried to pick him up, but I also fell,” she shared. “My son was crying, and I was too, and my nanny got confused at that point. Immediately I felt numbness in my hand and leg.”
She confirmed that her left side is completely paralysed, leaving her unable to walk. However, she remains hopeful, stating that with physiotherapy, function is expected to return.
She also spoke about the pain of being abandoned by people she considered close friends. “All my friends left; I will never count on friends. Become sick, and then you will know who your friends are,” she stated. “A few stayed, but the main ones I was counting on left. They never pick my calls.”
