SUPER METRO ISSUES STATEMENT ON ARSON ATTACK FOLLOWING BUS ACCIDENT

Super Metro confirmed an incident involving their bus, registration number KC2358N, on Monday, September 1, 2025.

The bus was involved in a tragic accident along the Thika Superhighway near Juja that resulted in the death of a motorcycle rider. According to the company’s statement, a Tuk-tuk ahead of the bus attempted to change lanes, prompting a motorbike rider, who was overtaking, to swerve in an effort to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, the rider struck a pavement, fell and was fatally injured by the bus. The rider passed away at the scene. 

The incident, which occurred along the busy highway connecting Nairobi to Thika. Boda boda operators descend on the vehicle, setting it alight in a retaliatory act. The company sent their condolences to the family of the deceased, “We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time. Super Metro remains committed to adhering to all regulatory requirements and supporting the ongoing investigation.”

The matter remains under active investigation by the Juja Police Station. Super Metro says it is providing our full cooperation to the authorities on both matters to ensure a thorough and transparent process.
