‘WE ARE NO SCAMMERS’ MERCY KYALLO ADDRESSES YALLO LEATHER DELAYS
Founder and creative director of the renowned Kenyan leather bag brand Yallo Leather, Mercy Kyallo, has issued a statement addressing recent online allegations regarding delays in their orders.
The statement comes after an allegation from a netizen who claimed to have paid Ksh26,000 for an undelivered order. Kyallo explained that the issue started from unforeseen challenges with leather suppliers. “Two of our biggest suppliers unexpectedly closed down,” she stated.
“These weren’t just vendors; they were partners, mentors, and friends who were core to our unique leather sourcing. Replacing them, especially for the specific, high-quality materials our clients expect, required careful time and consideration to ensure we did not compromise on our standards.”

Kyallo stated that her leather bags are not fast fashion. Each product is handcrafted by skilled artisans, a process that values quality. “I understand completely that some of you have had to wait way longer than promised, and I know it’s very frustrating,” added Kyallo.
“But we are by no means scammers. For 10 years, since I was 22, you have seen me build this business transparently. You have seen the journey from a dream to a tangible reality, bag after bag.”
