ZUCHU CONFIRMS PAYMENT FROM CHAN ORGANISERS
Bongo Flava artist Zuchu has confirmed the receipt of her outstanding payment from LEAP Creative Agency, the firm contracted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for her headline performance at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) closing ceremony.
“I want to thank my good people who made sure our message got across to the agency involved with CHAN. I have received my balance, thank you. We move,” she said.
This confirmation comes a week after the singer publicly appealed to the organisers via her social media platforms for failing to pay her for the performance delivered on August 30, 2025, at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya. In her initial statement, Zuchu said that despite the agreement stipulating full payment upon completion of the event, numerous follow-ups with LEAP Creative Agency yielded only unverifiable proof of payment.
Her management team reported being in constant communication with the agency, including its CEO, Roshan Soomarshun, before the public appeal. “I have upheld my end of the agreement by delivering a performance that I dedicated myself fully to ensure it met the highest standards. It is highly disappointing to find that the same level of professionalism has not been extended in return,” Zuchu’s statement read.
