12 PEOPLE FEARED DEAD AFTER AIRCRAFT CRASHES IN KWALE
Aircraft carrying 12 people is reported to have crashed early Tuesday in the Tsimba Golini area of Kwale County, with fears that all on board have perished.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) confirmed the incident, stating the plane went down at approximately 5:30 AM. The aircraft, registered as 5Y-CCA, was en route from Diani to Kichwa Tembo at the time of the accident.
In an official statement, the KCAA disclosed that the flight was operated by Mombasa Air Services. The authority further indicated that emergency response teams and relevant government agencies have been dispatched to the crash site. Their primary objectives are to determine the cause of the accident and manage the aftermath.
The specific circumstances leading to the crash are not yet known and remain under investigation by aviation experts. Mombasa Air Services routinely flies between Mombasa and various popular tourist destinations within the country.
