‘BURY ME IN 48 HOURS’ AKOTHEE OPENS UP ABOUT HER HEALTH DIAGNOSIS
Renowned Kenyan businesswoman and musician Akothee, whose real name is Esther Akoth Kokeyo, has shared an update with her fans, revealing a series of serious health challenges that have changed her lifestyle.
In a candid social media post, the artist disclosed that she has been diagnosed with severe migraines, a blood clot, and uterine fibroids. She detailed a particularly harrowing experience where a prescribed blood thinner caused a adverse reaction, leading her to lose consciousness for three hours due to over-sedation. “Truth is, life slowed me down,” Akothee wrote. “Three words [the diagnoses] changed everything I knew about strength, pace, and purpose.”
The businesswoman described a shift in her perspective on strength to one that embraces rest and healing. “My peace is now my prescription. My calm is my survival,” she stated, explaining that she can no longer engage in shouting, arguments, or “absorb unnecessary pressure.”
She directly addressed her followers: “To everyone who has noticed my silence, it’s not weakness. It’s wisdom. To every woman silently battling pain behind her smile I see you. We are not broken. We are becoming. This is my healing era.”
She directly confronted potential online trolls, telling them they could mock her conditions, but also shared instructions for her loved ones, “Please bury me in 48 hours, if it finds me. Abroad, don’t struggle to bring my body back, my children have no energy to attend to guest’s. If you want to see me, enjoy me now that we can interact, show me the love now. There is no genuine love showed to a dead body if it was never shown while they lived..”
