KASMUEL MCOURE PLEDGES HIS YOUTH LEAGUE TO PRESIDENT RUTO

Kasmuel McOure, a former opponent of President William Ruto, has declared his willingness to mobilise support for the President on one condition: the full honour and implementation of the broad-based arrangement outlined in the 10-Point agenda.

McOure made the declaration during a recent interview on TV47, marking a turning point in his political career. “If President William Ruto honours this broad based arrangement that we have in the 10 Point agenda, I assure you that as a person who was once opposing him most vehemently, if this 10 Point memorandum is achieved, I assure you I will lead the Youth League of the origin, the Revolutionary Youth League of the orange democratic movement to support and to drum up support for him,” McOure stated.

When questioned about his own political ambitions, he said it depends with the will of his party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). “I’m a servant of the party. The party will decide whether I vie or not,” he said. “It’s democratic in the sense that you present yourself to the people and you ask, if I get the ticket well and good.

He voiced his opposition to the recently passed Cybercrime Amendment Bill,  “I think the intention is good, but it poses certain democratic challenges, where it can give blanket overreach,” he commented. “I disagree with two of the bills out of the eight, six I agree with. That one for cyber crimes, I am not in support. I oppose it fully.
