Former Machakos County First Lady Lilian Ng’ang’a has shared her personal wishes for her final rites, stating her desire for a small, private and orderly funeral, free from what she describes as cultural chaos and insincerity.

I’ve always said I want a small, private funeral,Ng’ang’a stated. “Funerals can be orderly, but our culture of pushing and shoving makes them messy! I’d be so mad if my funeral had pushing and shoving,” she added.

She directly linked her wishes to the necessity of having a legally binding Will. “..and that’s why a Will is important,” she continued. “State your wishes, and in it also appoint someone to identify all fake people coming to shed fake tears and deny them entry!? No fakeness in life and in death!

Ng’ang’a statement challenges conventional funeral practices and calls for a shift towards more personalised ceremonies.
