PRESIDENT RUTO MOURNS VETERAN BROADCASTER SAMMY LUI
President William Ruto is mourning the passing of veteran broadcaster and Director of State Events, Sammy Lui, who passed away at his home in Subukia, Nakuru County.
In a tribute, the President described the late Lui as a dedicated public servant and the respected State Master of Ceremonies. “Sammy Lui was a dedicated public servant, a veteran broadcaster, and our respected State Master of Ceremonies,” Ruto said. “From his early days as one of Kenya’s pioneer journalists at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation to his time at the Presidential Press Service, and later, as Director of State Events, his powerful voice was the familiar soundtrack to Kenyans.”
With a career that spanned decades, Sammy became one of the most recognisable voices in the nation. His eloquent and dignified presence guided the proceedings at numerous national ceremonies and state functions.
The President said that his career influenced many who followed in his footsteps. “His sterling career influenced many who followed in his footsteps, and his huge contribution to our media industry will not be forgotten,” President Ruto stated.
Ruto, on behalf of the Government and the people of Kenya, extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the entire media fraternity grieving the loss. “Our condolences to the family, friends and the media fraternity. Rest In Peace, Lui.”
