‘BE MAN ENOUGH TO MARRY’ PRESIDENT RUTO URGES YOUTH

President William Ruto has urged youths to embrace the responsibility of marriage and reject lifestyles of irresponsibility and substance abuse.

The President spoke during the wedding of Senator Allan Chesang and his bride, Chanelle Kittony. Using the occasion to address a broader national issue, President Ruto called out a growing trend among young people to avoid long-term commitments. “I want to encourage young people that it is good to get married,” Ruto stated. “Many people are running away from responsibility, thinking that it’s fashionable. It is not.”

He specifically addressed young men, challenging them to step up. “Many young men want to enjoy stuff but don’t want responsibility. If you’re man enough, marry the woman you love. Stop wasting people’s time. I’m not being a woman advocate. I am being a parent because I am a father of girls also,” he explained. “So the same thing I tell to my sons is the same thing I will tell to my daughters. Please, let all of us know there is nothing fashionable about being irresponsible.

Expanding on his call for responsible living, the president issued a warning against the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, “I will also tell the young people of our nation: avoid abuse of substances,” he said with conviction. “I will say that with a straight face, because we are losing many young people, many young girls to alcohol and drugs. Please. You know there is nothing good in wasting your life on stuff that cannot add value to your life.
