BRIAN OGOLA ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE FROM FULL-TIME ACTING
Acclaimed screen actor Brian Ogola has announced that 2025 will mark his final year working as a full-time actor.
The decision comes after what he describes as “grieving a version of himself“. He explained that the passion he once held began to feel burdensome, leading to a “quiet heartbreak” and a necessary period of grieving.
He clarified that his decision is not from failure, “This isn’t a declaration of defeat, it’s an act of grace,” Ogola stated. “A moment of choosing stillness after years of motion.”
He thanked his colleagues, fans, and supporters for their kindness. “You’ve held space for both my light and my shadows. You’ve reminded me that love exists beyond performance.”
Ogola has two last projects coming out. He will appear in the upcoming fourth season of the popular series Paa premiering this November, and in a new film Goat that he says “carries so much of my heart,” which is slated for a festival run over the next year.
Citing filmmaker David Lynch, Ogola said his exit not as a final goodbye, but as a “necessary vanishing” to rediscover himself beyond the camera and the applause. He left the door open for a future return, promising that if he does come back to the screen, it will be with “clearer eyes and a fuller heart.” “This isn’t goodbye, just exit. A soft pause between acts. A fade to black before the next scene begins.“
