BUZZ CENTRAL SECURES 2 NOMINATIONS FOR BAKE AWARDS 2025
Digital media house Buzz Central has been recognised with two major nominations for the upcoming Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) Awards 2025. The popular blog is a finalist in the Entertainment Creator category, while its associated podcast has earned a spot in the competitive Video Creator category.
This year’s nomination marks a milestone for the Buzz Central, as it is the third time it has been honoured by the BAKE Awards. It was previously nominated in 2017 and clinched the top prize as the winner of Best Entertainment Blog in 2018.
The dual nominations in 2025 highlights Buzz Central’s consistent quality and evolving influence across multiple digital platforms. The BAKE Awards have become the annual cornerstone of Kenya’s digital space, celebrating the best of online content creation. This year’s journey to the nominees’ list was intense, beginning with a massive call for submissions in September 2025. Due to overwhelming public interest, the submission deadline was extended to October 23rd, 2025.
A panel of industry experts then began a review of all entries, vetting for strict criteria including creativity, consistency, impact, relevance, and authenticity. The 2025 judging panel, assembled to ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation, included: Abigail Arunga: A successful writer, author, and scriptwriter. Martin Mburu: A published author and university lecturer. Leo Mutisya: An expert in media policy and governance from the Media Council of Kenya. Ahmad Salim: A leading Creative Strategist focused on innovation and audience connection. Cecilia Maundu: A digital rights researcher and security expert.
The BAKE Awards have officially opened public voting, making it a crucial period for all nominees. The voting period is a tight race, running from November 17th to December 2nd, 2025. The winners will be unveiled at the legendary BAKE Awards Gala Night on December 6th in Nairobi.
“We are incredibly honoured by this recognition from BAKE,” said a spokesperson for Buzz Central. “To have our blog nominated for the third time, and for our podcast to be recognised alongside Kenya’s best digital creators, is a testament to our team’s hard work and our community’s incredible support. We are excited for the journey ahead and encourage our fans to vote.”
Kennedy Kachwanya, BAKE Chairperson, emphasised the importance of public participation: “The BAKE Awards is the platform for recognizing the resilience and influence of Kenyan digital storytellers. Now, it’s your turn. Jump in, vote, and support your favourite creators who represent Kenya’s digital excellence.”
