DONALD KIPKORIR TO DONATE SH1 MILLION COMPENSATION TO CANCER CHARITY

Prominent lawyer Donald Kipkorir has announced that he will donate the entire Sh1 million in damages awarded to him by the High Court against Muthaiga Country Club to a cancer charity, honouring the memory of his late mother.

His decision comes after the High Court ruled that the Club violated Kipkorir’s constitutional rights by denying him entry despite a valid invitation. In a public appeal, Kipkorir has invited Kenyans to nominate a worthy beneficiary for the funds. The initiative has already gained momentum, with several of his friends pledging to match the donation.

Due to the overwhelming response on my intended donation, I need the public to nominate for me a worthy charity organization or government hospital cancer departments,” Kipkorir stated. He specified that the chosen institution must be “a cancer charity that assists the poor or a cancer department of a government hospital.

He shared that his mother suffered and passed away from stomach cancer two years ago, a loss that involved medical bills and a journey for treatment that spanned local hospitals, India, and ended in Qatar. “The medical bills I paid for my mother were debilitating and I didn’t receive support from Government or anyone,” Kipkorir recounted. “In honour of her memory, I will give to a Cancer Charity all the money Muthaiga Country Club was ordered to pay me.”
