MACHAKOS COUNTY ISSUES DEMAND LETTER TO OBINNA & KIOKO TO PROVIDE SUPPLY RECORDS

The public disagreement between comedian Sammy Kioko and the Machakos County Government has intensified. The conflict has now drawn in content creator Oga Obinna, who has received a formal demand letter from the County Attorney’s office.

This development comes after Obinna publicly shared a three-page letter from the county, dated November 12, 2025. The letter demands that Obinna provide documents to support the claims Kioko made during a November 10th interview on his show

During the interview, Kioko alleged that he provided products worth Sh19million to the county government but was never paid. The Machakos County Government, through a letter signed by County Solicitor Juliet Nthambi, has denied having any direct business relationship with Kioko. The county states that their records show Kioko is not a registered supplier and does not hold any official position such as director or shareholder in the companies approved to work with the county.

The stated that Kioko’s name is absent from the county’s list of prequalified suppliers. He has no proven directorial or ownership stake in the company that supposedly secured the tender. He has not provided any legal authorisation to act on that company’s behalf. There is no official record of the meetings he claims to have had with county officials about the payment.

The solicitor concluded by saying that procurement matters are strictly handled between the county and the officially contracted company, not a third party.
