CONSERVATIONIST DR. DAPASH MOVES TO WITHDRAW PETITION AGAINST RITZ CARLTON MASAI MARA CAMP
Environmentalist Dr. Meitamei Olol Dapash has applied to the Narok Environment and Land Court to fully withdraw his legal petition against the Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara Safari Camp.
Dr. Dapash states his concerns regarding the potential obstruction of the annual wildebeest migration have been sufficiently resolved by the project stakeholders.
The lawsuit, filed in August 2025, challenged the environmental compliance and approval process of the camp, naming the Narok County Government and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) as respondents. It sought to halt operations over fears of ecological and community impact.
The application requests a withdrawal with no orders for legal costs. A ruling from the court is anticipated today.
