DEATH THREATS AGAINST BOBI WINE SPARK CLASH BETWEEN MUHOOZI & LARRY MADOWO

A heated exchange unfolded on social media platform X between Lieutenant General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, and international journalist Larry Madowo

The confrontation followed a series of alarming posts from Muhoonzi in which he issued threats against members of Uganda’s political opposition, Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine.

The incident began when Muhoonzi, a high-ranking military officer, posted a series of statements on his verified X account. In one post, he declared, “We have killed 22 NUP terrorists since last week. I’m praying the 23rd is Kabobi.” In another, he wrote, “We will k*ll on sight all NUP so called ‘Foot Soldiers’. Until Mzee says otherwise.”

These posts prompted a direct challenge from CNN International Correspondent Madowo, who quote-tweeted the threats, stating: “The son of Uganda’s president is tweeting about killing his father’s main challenger (who is in hiding).”

The exchange escalated when Muhoonzi, responded to Madowo, why he didn’t mention his name and instead used ‘president’s son’ on his post, “Why don’t you call me my name Larry? How long will you kiss the Muzungu’s AJS in the USA pretending to represent us?” Adding, “I have found that some Kenyans like to talk a lot but run the fastest when kibokos start.”
