EMMY KOSGEI CALLS OUT DOUBLE STANDARDS AMONG NAIROBI PASTORS
Gospel artist Emmy Kosgei has addressed what she describes as concerning hypocrisy and double standards within some pastoral circles in Nairobi.
Speaking candidly, Kosgei shared an encounter that prompted her to question the disconnect between private behaviour and public ministry.
Kosgei recounted a conversation with an air hostess who exposed a hidden reality. “There is an air hostess when I was flying, and this lady told me, ‘Do you know how many of our staff go and hang out with Nairobi pastors in exclusive clubs in Nairobi suburbs?’” Kosgei revealed. “They drink and party, and on Sunday they are like, ‘The Holy Spirit told me,’ ‘the Lord told me.’ Where did the Lord say?”
She challenged the culture of judgment without self-reflection. “God is so merciful,” Kosgei stated. “If He could put a righteous meter in our blood, many Christians would fail.” Kosgei warned against spiritual pride. “When you judge people about their lives, you have your limitations. The fact that God has not judged you doesn’t make you more righteous.”
