CONGOLESE MUSIC ICONS KOFFI OLOMIDÉ AND CINDY LE COEUR EXCHANGE VOWS
Legendary Congolese musician Koffi Olomidé has tied the knot with longtime partner and fellow artist Cindy Le Coeur in an intimate ceremony surrounded by loved ones.
The couple exchanged vows in a civil wedding on February 28 before a registrar, as reported by outlets in the Democratic Republic of Congo. While the two have shared the spotlight in numerous music videos and performances throughout the years, they only opened up about their romantic relationship in recent times. “May our happiness be yours… 💍❤️” Koffi wrote on social media.
Olomidé, now 70, stands as one of the most iconic figures in African music. The singer, songwriter, and orchestra leader has spent over four decades shaping the sounds of Congolese rumba and ndombolo, earning international acclaim. Through his renowned ensemble Quartier Latin International, he has produced countless hit records and collected numerous accolades across the continent and beyond.
Cindy born Candy Nkunku, has carved her own path in the music industry. She became part of Quartier Latin in 2007 and rapidly ascended to the role of artistic director, distinguishing herself as one of the ensemble’s most compelling voices. Her solo career has flourished with celebrated releases and industry recognition, cementing her status as both a formidable performer.
