Emotions ran high as the widow of the late Johana Ng’eno delivered a moving tribute to her husband during a requiem mass held in his honour. Family, friends, and colleagues gathered to celebrate the life of a man remembered as a devoted father and loving partner.

In a eulogy that left mourners in tears, Naiyanoi Ntutu described her late husband as the cornerstone of her early adult life and a hero to their children. “To my beloved, Joha, the husband of my youth,” she said. “Even to say your name carries a lifetime inside it. You are the love of my early days when everything was still soft and full of possibility.

She reflected on their journey together, recalling how they navigated the challenges of young love and life. “We were young, learning life together, and somehow you made it all feel less frightening and more beautiful. Your love made even ordinary days feel like a celebration. I can still hear your laugh. I think I always will.

The widow also spoke of the bond between her late husband and their children, painting a picture of a man who cherished his role as a father.

And the way you loved your children you adored them. You held them with pride. You played with them. You looked at them like they were your greatest accomplishments. In their eyes, you were a hero. In mine, you were a gentle, devoted father with the biggest heart,” Naiyanoi said.

She described the void left by his passing, “Losing you feels like losing the music of my youth the laughter, the dreams, the simplicity of believing we had endless time.”

Despite the grief, she offered a message of enduring hope and resilience, affirming that death cannot sever the bonds of love and family. “But even death cannot take what we built. It cannot erase the love, the memories, the family we created. You will always be my Joha,” she concluded. “Rest gently, my love. You are forever part of me.”
