Comedian Eric Omondi has issued a warning to politicians attempting to associate themselves with the viral ‘Niko Kadi‘ ‘Tuko Kadi’ movement, insisting that the initiative belongs solely to the youth.

Speaking out as the movement continues to trend online, Omondi made it clear that Tuko Kadi is not affiliated with any political party or individual leader. He added that the movement was started by young people, for young people, with one goal: to inform and mobilise Gen Z and other youth to register as voters.

Do not dare us,” Omondi stated. “Tuko Kadi is a movement by young people and Gen Zs to inform the youth and Gen Zs to register as voters. Do not take our silence for weakness.”

He directed his message at politicians from all sides, warning them against trying to hijack or co-opt the movement for their own political gain. “Whether you are one term or two term, we are not part of you,” he said. “If you think you can hijack or corrupt Tuko Kadi, you are mistaken.” Omondi concluded with a statement of what the youth want from the country’s leaders. “Our wish is for all of you to finish your term and leave. That’s our prayer.

His remarks come amid growing online momentum for Tuko Kadi, a grassroots campaign aimed at driving youth voter registration ahead of upcoming elections. Organizers and supporters have repeatedly stressed that the movement is independent and should remain free from political interference.
