MEJJA ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM MTOTO WA KHADIJA AFTER 20-YEAR CAREER

Celebrated Genge artist Mejja has officially unveiled the tracklist for his highly anticipated debut album, Mtoto Wa Khadija. The project, dropping on March 6th at 2:00 PM EAT on all major streaming platforms, marks the first full-length album of his illustrious 20-year career.

Paying homage to his roots, the album title Mtoto Wa Khadija (Child of Khadija) is a personal tribute to his mother, who raised him and his brothers single-handedly . The album serves as a sonic autobiography, chronicling his journey from the early days of Genge to his current status as a national treasure and the undisputed King of Collabos.

The 13-track project lives up to Mejja’s reputation as a collaborative powerhouse, featuring an impressive roster of talent from across East Africa. The album blends the raw energy of Genge with mainstream appeal, featuring heavyweights such as Khaligraph Jones, Nadia Mukami, Scar Mkadinali, and Tanzania’s Jay Melody. Other featured artists include Toxic Lyrical, Diana Cods, Fix Fameica, Ndovu Kuu, and Zero Sufuri.
