NANA GECAGA LEAVES CORPORATE WORLD, MOVES FAMILY TO UK 

FormerCEO of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nana Gecaga has broken her silence following months of public curiosity about her whereabouts, revealing she relocated to the United Kingdom in 2024 to embrace a new season of life focused on motherhood.

In a statement shared over the weekend, Gecaga addressed the question on many people’s minds: “Where has Nana been?“The accomplished corporate leader, known for her high-profile roles in Kenya’s business and events sectors, explained that her journey has been one of intentional transition rather than disappearance.

“In 2022, I began slowing down my corporate life. In 2024, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life I moved to the UK with my boys,” Gecaga shared. “I stepped away from boardrooms, leadership titles, deal-making, and the fast corporate lane… and stepped fully into motherhood.”

Gecaga described the major shift in her daily reality from the high-pressure world of corporate leadership to the hands-on demands of raising her children. “Now I’m the one doing school runs every morning. The one cooking dinner. The one at matches cheering the loudest. The one putting on Band-Aids, making midnight hospital runs, and talking my boys to sleep,” she wrote.

She acknowledged that her previous lifestyle required teams, schedules, and staff to fill that space. Today, she says, “presence demands me.” “This is not judgment on anyone else’s path. Many parents balance both every day. I was simply fortunate enough to choose differently when the moment came.“

Describing her life as “The Book of Nana,” Gecaga outlined the evolving chapters of her journey: The hard work, heartbreak, victories, reinvention and now… the motherhood chapter
