JACKIE MATUBIA SPEAKS OUT ON CREATORS STRUGGLE WITH DELAYED PAYMENTS
Popular Kenyan actor and content creator Jackie Matubia has opened up about the struggles facing creative professionals, particularly the painful reality of delayed payments for work already delivered.
In a candid statement, Matubia spoke about the financial toll that late payments take on creators who pour their energy into meeting and exceeding expectations.
“Being a creator is not easy,” she said. “You show up, you create, you deliver beyond expectation. You send your reports, insights, everything asked of you. Then a week later, you are following up like a beggar for money you already worked for.”
She described the experience as both exhausting and humbling in ways that many people do not see. Despite these challenges, she noted that creators continue to show up and give their best. “It’s exhausting, it’s humbling in ways people don’t see, and still we show up again,” Matubia added.
She ended with a strong message of encouragement, “To every creator out there, your work is valid. Your voice has value, and you deserve to be paid on time. Period.”
