NAMELESS MARKS FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF HIS FATHER’S PASSING
Celebrated Kenyan musician Nameless, born David Mathenge, together with his family, has marked the first death anniversary of their beloved patriarch, Joshua Solomon Mathenge, with a private memorial celebration.
In an emotional tribute shared with fans and well-wishers, Nameless reflected on the heavy but grateful journey of carrying forward his father’s legacy, exactly one year since his passing.
“One year since you left us Dad! ❤️❤️🙏🏿🙏🏿,” Nameless wrote. “We held a special small memorial to celebrate Shujaa Mathenge and reflect on his legacy! Heavy day but grateful to carry his legacy on! Keep resting well Dad! We miss you!💔❤️🙏🏿”

The memorial, described by Nameless as small and intimate, was a family affair focused not on sorrow but on celebration. The family gathered to honour the man they lovingly call “Shujaa Mathenge” (Warrior Mathenge), reflecting on the values, strength, and foundation he laid for generations to come.
While Nameless has spent decades in the public eye as one of Kenya’s most beloved musical icons, the past year has seen him embrace a more personal role: that of a son preserving his father’s legacy.
