WILLIS RABURU UNDERGOES SH900,000 GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY TO LOSE WEIGHT
Media personality Willis Raburu has disclosed he spent Sh900,000 for a gastric bypass surgery.
The 10 over 10 host said he underwent the surgery to help him lose weight by changing how his stomach and small intestine handles the food he eats, “I used to eat more than six chapattis and visit KFC regularly. But now I don’t eat much. I know this is a lasting solution.” Raburu had the surgery in Nairobi saying it took time to heal, “Yes I went for gastric surgery here in Nairobi to reduce my weight. After the surgery, it took me some time to heal.” He had to eat mashed food after the surgery.
On why he went for the surgery instead of the gym, he said “I went for gastric bypass surgery. I respect watu wanaenda gym. Gym ni kazi, nilikua na good trainers but nilikua na loss weight but inarudi.” Adding that his weight had led to other problems in his body, “By the time I was going for the surgery I was not doing well. I was 164kgs and I needed the surgery because my blood pressure and cholesterol were high.”
His weight has been under a lot of scrutiny with a section of netizens advising him to lose weight. He said he decided to love himself and urged overweight Kenyans not to fear asking for help, “I have gone through a lot because of my weight. I loved myself and just decided to ignore people’s comments. But I would advise people to appreciate themselves and accept that they need help.”
