JALANG’O SHARES HIS LOWEST MOMENTS IN LIFE
Radio personality Jalang’o has opened up about the lowest moments in his life. Speaking at a TV interview he highlighted bad experiences that have shaped him into who he is today.
“One of the saddest moments was when I started acting, I went to the National Theater and I could not get a role to play. So, I auditioned and auditioned, when I got my first role, I was an understudy. We were doing set books and the main actors were getting paid and they went drinking.
The next day more students came and the actors were nowhere to be seen, they told me this was my chance because the teachers were complaining. Lucky enough it was a sad role and I was crying telling God it has come to this and I did well and the role was mine.”
He added, “Then we have had the case of negative publicity but we came out of them strong not losing focus of why I started this in the first place.”
Adding, “The first day I got my job was the same day my dad died. Caroline called me and told me I was employed then mum calls and says dad has passed on. Thinking about poverty when growing up, coming from school and finding the doors at home locked, you just walk back in class and smile.
When I used to live in Mwiki and I would walk to town every day, reading my script, I would do 30km walking to town and walk back to my empty house and thank God that I am alive.
I would walk past my neighbour’s door three or four times for them to just invite me for a meal or sometimes I wished I meet someone smoking weed then I smoke and sleep. Life has not been easy.”
