WINNIE ODINGA TALKS BEING BULLIED BY TEACHERS AND CHALLENGES OF FINDING LOVE

By  |

ODM leader Raila Odinga’s daughter Winnie Odinga has opened up about her life as a politician’s daughter.  Speaking at an interview, Winnie talked about dealing with social media bullies, politics and the challenges of finding love.

She says she is not dating because she has not found a supporting partner, “The problem with men they like to plan and I like to do my things, everyone should plan their own lives. My experience dating is bad, ‘is there anyone with a good love story?’ my work is in politics and one thing you should know, politics is done at night in a bar or the house.

Kamala Harris got married at 49 because she got someone to support her. But our men here it’s a different story. If you have a man who can remain home with kids and the wife goes to the bar to talk to other men bring him.”

She also added being a politician’s daughter has its challenges, “Life has not been easy, in the beginning, we were refugees, when I was two years we moved to Norway, then Germany and Denmark in Moi’s era.

We came back everything was okay and I joined Rusinga School, some people had problems with my dad including the teachers so they used to take it out on me. I used to be bullied by teachers, my late brother Fidel said I must be taken to another school that’s when I went to Brook House.”

Winnie said she deals with social media bullies by ignoring them, “To say that the things they say don’t put me down is a lie. Sometimes people go too far, people are angry and have feelings they want to express, when they see you, they feel that’s the best way to express it. You just ignore them and let it go.”

But don’t expect her to run for a political seat, “I help my dad with his daily work but also my whole family, but don’t expect me to join politics, I’m a political operator but you never know God’s plan.”
