DJ JOE MFALME SPEAKS ON LIFE AFTER RADIO EXIT
Popular disc jockey Joseph Munoru, alias DJ Joe Mfalme has opened up on some of the challenges he faced after after leaving Homeboyz Radio. Addressing the matter, DJ Joe said their comments were misunderstood, noting that his mistake was answering a question after Shaffie led the conversation making insensitive comments.
“It was a misunderstanding. The words that came out of my mouth was were how it took time for me to get a wife. I was answering a question but Shaffie had already led the conversation. Someone like Nevile didn’t say anything but unfortunately he was also involved,” said Joe.

He also disclosed that he got a gig at Eminem’s radio station about three weeks after being fired from Homeboyz. “We left Homeboyz and three weeks later I’m on Eminem’s station. I was called and I did a really dope set on Friday 19th, I’ll never forget that day,” he added. DJ Joe further said he is still doing his TV shows.
The DJ alongside radio presenters Shaffie Weru and Neville Musya were fired over gender insensitive remarks they made on air during their breakfast show. In a statement, Homeboyz Radio said the decision was reached after a comprehensive review of the comments made by the presenters. The Radio Africa-owned radio station also said the topic in discussion was neither approved nor authorised by the management, adding that it had established that the conduct of the three constituted gross misconduct leading to a breach of the company’s editorial policy.
