HUDDAH MONROE, MAINA KAGENI & ANNE KIGUTA PAY TRIBUTE TO CHRIS KIRUBI

A number of Kenyan celebrities shared their tributes following the death of respected business mogul Chris Kirubi who passed away on Monday, June 14. The Capital FM owner took his final bow after a long battle with cancer.

Kenyan socialite turned businesswoman Huddah Monroe shared her tribute recalling her first encounter with Kirubi, adding that he inspired her to venture into business. “This man used to see me in business class in almost all my travels. In Nairobi, there’s no first class lounge so y’all seat in business class waiting on Emirates flight.

When he asked what I do for a living I didn’t have an answer. He proceeded to upgrade me to first class. We had a lengthy talk because I love to ask and learn from people. I’m happy he was part of what inspired me to start Huddah Cosmetics,” wrote Huddah

former K24 news anchor Anne Kiguta mourned the departed business mogul noting that he was a good man to work with and that he wanted his employees to feel like they were family to him.

DJ C.K was many things but one thing for certain he was a good man to work with. Wanted every employee to feel like they were family to him. If you did your job well he would call you up and let the entire office know that he was proud of you.

Then there were the random midweek office parties (he would show up at 7am the next day to see who came late). Also, he was that boss who would visit his staff and sit with them from cleaner to anchor literally, at their desk, to understand their job and challenges. What a guy. Go well Chairman,” said Kiguta

On the other hand, Classic 105 radio presenter Maina Kageni penned a hearty message to Kirubi’s daughter Maryanne Kirubi terming her a wonderful example of a daughter raised by a good man. He also mourned Kirubi as a father, mentor and astute businessman.

I’d like to address Maryanne Kirubi you are a wonderful example of a daughter raised by a good man your dad was a father, mentor, a great golf partner of mine for a while, an astute businessman, a really nice boss and a human being with an amazing heart. I send you my love, hugs and condolences.

I’m with you, always have, always will. I send my prayers to everyone who interacted with CK for he touched every life he met and I send him thanks and gratitude and eternal indebtedness for all that he did for me. Journey mercies. Boss, I shall remember you fondly you weren’t just a person, you were an example! One that generations shall follow. Go well,” wrote Maina
