AINEA OJIAMBO SPEAKS ON HIS PLANS TO MARRY NEXT YEAR AND DROPPING OUT OF SEMINARY

By  |

Veteran Kenyan actor Ainea Ojiambo has said that he is ready to get married, but in 2023 after the covid 19 pandemic and the General Elections thwarted his initial wedding plans for over two years.

The Kina actor expressed these sentiments in an interview with Buzz Central during the screening of the first episode of the Showmax thriller series Igiza at Nairobi Street Kitchen in Westlands on May 19. He says that being single comes with the advantage of having to plan his time all by himself and effectively juggle his multiple roles in different TV shows.

The last two years there was covid pandemic, and I couldn’t marry, and this year, there are elections. I have postponed marriage until 2023 because of elections now,” he said.

“I am in two productions and two movies. It’s crazy for me, and the last weeks have been mad because I have to be in four different characters. I have to prepare at night. If I had a wife, I would not have prepared, but now because I am alone, it’s easier.” He added.

In the Igiza series, Ainea plays a role of a chief prison guard, who is obsessed with Linda, an inmate cast portrayed by popular thespian Serah Ndanu. This is not the first time he is acting alongside Serah. He featured with her in some of the TV shows like Rugged Priests and Sumu la Penzi, and their familiarity contributed to the ease of making explicit scenes in the new series.

I have worked with her like four times. I worked with her when she was just 18 years old, and it was a crazy scene. She won the Kalasha Awards as the best actress in Rugged Priests. The second time was in Sumu la Penzi and when she was portraying my younger wife in Noose of Gold.  This is the fourth time, and actually, even the directors had the thought that it would not be easy but because we have worked with each other, even making the explicit scenes were very easy.”

In another story, Ainea commented on his social media post in which he had disclosed that he once aspired to be a priest and even attended a seminary school. He had posted a photo of himself as an altar boy, but he later ditched the dream to pursue acting after losing interest in the priesthood.

I used to be an altar boy. I thought I had a calling to be a priest, and I went to junior seminary, but it seems I didn’t hear my calling well. So, I am out here consoling people who have been given character development, but I am still a catholic.”
