VARSHITA ACTRESS VAISHALI MORJARIA REVEALS WHY IT IS DIFFICULT FOR INDIAN WOMEN TO MARRY AFRICANS
Popular Varshita actress Vaishali Morjaria alias Mrs Bhatt spoke to Buzz Central about interracial dating.
The actress revealed why it is difficult for most Indian women to marry outside their race. She said it is because of religion and culture. “When our forefathers came here to build the railways and teach agriculture they came in a small group. There were so many barriers in language, religion and food. So it started as a protective thing then it became let’s just preserve our culture because they were a small group.
But as they became bigger and started settling, it became a power thing because they were now employing Africans. Later it evolved to religion and culture, it’s only in the past few years, we are exploring each other’s cultures. When you guys have a wedding, you want to dress up as Indians in the sarees and stuff. For us we have African nights and we wear the kitenges.
Someone like me, I’ve been working in the fashion industry for so many years. I used to only do African and Kenyan weddings. I have been in many ruracios and I’ve been exposed and now my favourite food is Njahi. So for me, the world is a beautiful place, if I love you. I love you.”
Vaishali also said though they were not allowed to marry white men, parents are now open for their children to marry whoever they choose. “It used to be but in the last few years things have really changed because now kids are getting more exposed.”
